    I must be missing something...

Okay...though I'm mostly a guitar player, I play a fair amount of bass. I'm in the market for one, so I decided to bite the bullet and visit my local wankerville, I mean music store, and play a few (only EBMM dealer in close proximity). I had even decided that I might buy one today if they had what I wanted and weren't too much higher than the onlines.

Bottom line, I want a Sterling. I really want a black one with maple board and matching headstock. I can't find one. I tried the locator on the EBMM website. Is this something that would have to be ordered, or do I just have to hold my mouth right and let the cosmos do their thing (like fishing ) If I did order one, is this usually a few weeks kind of thing or a few months kind of thing? Who would be good to order one from, if that doesn't cross any forum rules. If it does, a PM would be much appreciated
    Is this an odd request?

You're probably gonna have to order thru your local EBMM dealer.

Build time is somewhere around 3 months.

Your locale states "Columbia". I assume that means Columbia, South America. If so, you're best off going thru your local EBMM dealer due to international distributor agreements and such. Alvaro (username is Alvabass) could probably help out since he's brought some Bongos into Columbia.

I'm not a factory rep or officially tied to EBMM in any capacity other than I own a most excellent bass made by them so if any of this information is incorrect, I hope somebody in the know comes along and sets things straight. Just trying to help out with the info I've picked up on this board over the years.

Thanks maddog. Actually, I'm in Columbia, SC, not Colombia, land of coffee and other stimulants

I know I should not badmouth my local store, as I'm sure someone here will probably feel just the opposite about them and I'm certainly not trying to be a jerk. A bad experience or three over the years, however, will do that to you.

As such, I'll be looking to order one from an online dealer. If anyone cares to recommend their favorite one via PM, I would appreciate it.

Doh! Didn't catch the "u". Ping Jack (bovinehost). He should be able to help you out.

If the PM bounces, it'd be best to email.

By all means, give Jack a buzz. I'm two basses into doing business with he and Steve (Dude Barr), and they treat their customers right!

Okay. One more question. I've figured out how to read and reply to PM's, but not how to originate one. Where is that button hiding?

Click the user id you want to PM, and a drop-down menu will reveal the link.

Hint: Don't PM Jack; e-mail him. His PM's are overloaded, and he may not catch yours.

    Lmao
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

So that's what they call "foreplay".
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.
