Exclamation Hey, would all left hand bassist check in

I’ve been curious ever since several new forum members are like me, a lefty, and I’d like to get a head count. Just how many left handed bass players do we have?

I know many of you are left handed, but as BP puts it, “was smart enough to learn righty”, this head count is just for the bassist that holds a bass in the left hand orientation.

I’d like to offer this opportunity for the left handed lurker to join in the fun here and become a member of this fine forum.

So if you play lefty, lets find how many there are of us, there’s power in numbers!

    Lefty, no choice

I am a lefty in recovery after discovering I couldn't have piezo on my Bongo. Would play righty if I could but there is just no way.

    "Where there's life, there's hope".

Now I heard this from an old bar keep, but I'm sure he got it from some better known source. Nevertheless, it's bleedingly optimistic. Where there's hope, pigs will fly, I guess. EB will teach a router to make lefty piezo bodies before you teach yourself to play backwards.

But ... I do know someone who doubles on cello and electric bass. Since the circle of fifths runs downward on a bass and upward on a cello, and she just plugs and unplugs them and goes back and forth like nobody's bidnez, oooooh ... my head is already spinning. Now it's spinning the other way. She's not ambidextrous, she's palindromic.
