Bongo Questions . . . Paint Wears Off??

Did you notice what sort of stand the guitar was sitting on/hanging from??

We had some old ones in the shop that would react with some guitar finishes and accually cause them to start to fade away or crack !!

That's crazy I sold a Warwick Corvette Hot Rod 5 today!!!!

Ahhh .. Highway #1 . . . . I drove down from SF to LA in '88 and seem to remember staying at a motel in or near SLO . . . Carmel, Pebble Beach, sea otters etc it sure is a famous drive . . . wonder if there's an EB factory shop .. haha

Seriously tho', given a 2 day stopover in LA where would you find somewhere to test all the Bongo pickup configs (well maybe the HH and H-S/C at least)?

The guy said that it was hanging from a *possibly* plastic stand. I say possibly because I can't remember, but he told me he changed it to a rubber one when the paint started coming off.

That's a good price. My exact deal was $3380, and it came with those Warwick strings and a $50 lead, so it works out about the same I think? I still couldn't believe I got a Hot Rod for that price though. I was going to get one when they came out, but the 5 strings were $4000. When I called one shop about them, they told me they couldn't go any lower on the price cause they were limited edition. That put me off them until I saw one for that price.



Oh, I edited out the prices on the Bongo. I didn't know it was a no-no. Sorry guys.

I've lived in Oz for 20-odd years and I've never even seen a Bongo. I don't think they exist. You guys just use photoshop and play jokes on us.

So if I want to compare the pup combinations I have to take an LA stopover and drive to SLO?? Bah!

There's a Bongo at Allan's if you'd like to see one in the flesh. Just do your research first cause they just don't seem to be interested in EB products at all. Have I mentioned how much that frustrates me?

I looked in there a month or so ago as it's the only place I've seen anything EB apart from the Spring Hill store that closed down last year. Lucky to get more than 1 MIA anything these days. I'll try and get there Friday as I've yet to see a Bongo in the flesh (yes, I've been warned in here what can happen on sighting one).
