New bass

Ok so im building my own bass. Ive always wanted to do this since i first started playing. Now i finally am but im getting parts similar to the musicman hopefully pulling in some of its sound. Ive pretty much decided i like the way the Nordstrand pickup double coil 5 string musicman replacement is. But the only problem I have is which preamp would be best to use for this pickup. I know how to follow diagrams but i dont know if certain preamps are "off limits" or wont work with this particular pickup. I was looking at bartolini preamps or aguilar but anything that works best should help give me an idea.

Honestly, you will probably get better response to this on thedudepit or Talkbass.
