Kinda OT: Getting back in the swing of things

Well fellas, and ladies, Im pretty excited right now, and figured Id share a few things with yall.

Some of you may remember when I posted about my band splitting. That was right at the end of last year, and I decided to take some down time, and figure out a few things. Played a pretty big gig in January, but still felt like I wanted more downtime. Ive had a few small session projects here and there, but for the most part since January, I have not been gigging. Ive enjoyed the time off, and have gotten to spend a lot of time with my Dad after his heart attack, and have been experimenting with new gear (amps and cabs) as you have seen.

Well now, most things are looking up, and I am very ready to start playing again. Its very funny, and a bit ironic at the same time. The day I really made up my mind to get back to playing, my phone and email inbox were blown up by many neat opportunities to play, and even co-write/produce. I now have THREE different live bands that Im going to split full time work with. I have a steady travel schedule in the works for this summer with a FOURTH band. I also have a talented young lady that Ive known for years that wants me to co-write and help produce an upcoming album of hers. So needless to say, Im freakin STOKED about what lies ahead. I was really considering hanging up serious playing there for a while, and Im glad that things are again looking up, and even better than they did before my downtime.

Just wanted to let yall know that after all thats been going on, things are getting back on track. The support Ive gotten here, from people Ive yet to meet face to face (cept Andrew), has been a real help. Thanks to all of you. What a unique internet family we have here.

    Very cool Travis!

I know you'll keep us up to date on your new projects.
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.

    Very cool!! Congratz.

I think I have an audition for a well established local Christian rock/p&w band on Monday. I'm nervous, its my first "audition." My previous bands have been either volunteer (church) or I got adopted!

Obligatory EBMM content: Wish I had my SR5 already...
