My new (to me) Stingray 5

And my first post here! I just got this used Lava Pearl Stingray 5 in trade, and I'm digging it! Here's a few pics. Any suggestions for a pickguard? I'm not all that knocked out by the plain jane white...

    MISTER Jon Packard!

    Imagine meeting you here.

Well, howdy, welcome, all that. Nice bass!

White Pearloid looks good on those. Abalone is "the new tort" around these parts, too....I have a Candy Red Bongo with abalone for comparison purposes:

    All hail Packman!

Hey thanks, Jack! Nice to see familiar faces.

How do you think that abalone will look with the white pickup? I was thinking white pearl, but I'd prefer something to darken the look up a bit....

Jon, fancy running into you here...

that really is a great looking bass man. all you need is a white pearloid pg and you're set to go!

EDIT: white pearl won't match the neck on your bass, so i change my opinion to black pearloid pg.

Welcome Jon. I can tell you're not new to forums. No one had to tell you to post pics.
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.

I am dying to see what white ice would look like on that.

Hmmm, yeah, the white pickup cover.

Okay, I withdraw the abalone notion and stick to white pearloid. I've had white pearloids on many a rosewood necked SR5 - nothing to be scared of at all.

Right. I have white pearl on my blue dawn/rosewood SR5, and it looks totally fine.

Welcome to the forum Jon. I must be a boring guy as I really like it the way it is. There's something about a plain appearance that appeals to me. Nice bass!

Welcome welcome! Lava pearl is probably my least favorite color but it's lookin' good on that SR5!

I'm curious about white ice too.

I like it! I'm not sure, but it will definitely be on hand for the next dance-type gig I do. Just jamming with it, I can see it's going to be my #1 diso bass I love my jazz so much though, it'll be a while before I'm used to the Ray's sound.
