    Needed.. Pieces of a dream

To all who have StingRay Basses. You don't know how lucky you are. Hhmm are maybe you do. Well it started about 2 months ago while I was at a local guitar show. I stumbled across a vender who sold me a cir Mar 2,1977 pre EB StingRay bass neck. Here is my problem I'm having issues finding parts during that same year of production. Is there light at this tunnel! Can someone point me in the right direction....Thanks

There aren't many Pre-EB parts floating around but they're out there. Maybe one of the guys on here have some. Hope you find everything you need!

    Possibly try customer service?

Also posting here about your bass is probably the best bet to solving your problem and these duplicate posts are probably not needed:

    Just a suggestion.

Here is another tip: Get rid of that old neck, and buy a used StingRay from not too long ago. It will save you money and it will play better.
    Other than that, it's ebay.
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

A vintage bass that souns good is probably a bass that remained in one piece, and was played. I don't believe that one made by pieces will be that good. On the other hand, Stingrays are like tanks, mine is 13 y old, and plays better than many new basses.
My advice is not to buy one without trying it first, becouse there are not two SR that sounds the same. They all may soud good, but maybe there is one specific sound you are asking from a Stingray. From example, my SR5 has a very deep tight sound, and my frend's nucular Homer SR5 sounds more middy, like a Fender.
