The first time I played a MM bass.

    Hang with me.

My boss' 50th birthday was today. Because he lives in BFE, Courtney, my receptionist/secretary, decided to ride to the party with me and my wife.

Courtney was in Jamaica recently and came back with some braids in her hair. I've been telling her all last week that I needed to show her a pic of my wife from a trip we took to Jamaica several years ago. Susan has really thick, red hair and, since this was in the eighties, she wore it in the style that most women did in that period. After all, she was in Texas and Alexis Carrington had the style that all the women wanted to copy.

Here's Susan with her "Dynasty" hair.

After a couple of days in Jamaica (this was our second trip there), she decided to have her hair braided. It took about 3 hours to get it done.

OK, you're all wondering "What the hell does this have to do with Larry's first time to play a MM bass?". As I was looking through the pics with Courtney, I came across the ones of the guest and staff talent show. Lo and behold, what kind of bass was I holding in my hands and playing? Nothing other than a MM Sabre.

I don't even remember paying any attention to what it was at the time. I was just blown away when I saw the pic today though. So that means that the first time I played a MM bass was sometimes in late August, 1987.
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.

Great pics, Larry! Don't you wish you had that bass now?

It would have been nice to have then. It's just that it belonged to the bass player in the house band there in the resort in Jamaica. His name is Benji and he's pretty famous in Jamaica now.
