One of those nights (part 2)

Gigged a private party last night. Usually we don't do them but the money was good and it was an "easy" night. First, the place ended up in the middle of nowhere... and I mean nowhere! Drive to God's country and just keep on going that's how far out it was. We get there set up on 2 flatbeds and play for about 150-200 people. Everything was on. The music was tight, the sound was the best I've heard (esp outside)... we finish a song... crickets! Really, real crickets!!! Never had that happen before. I have always joked about hearing crickets in the audience but never actually had them. The whole night was minimal crowd response. They liked us but nothing - just crickets. Guess you had to be there but the crickets got so loud that and the crowd so quiet that it became quite funny.

Oh, well on the up side , I stumbled onto some settings on teh GK that just rocked... the Bongo sound better than I have ever heard it.

I can just imagine a live recording of your gig. When it would normally pan to the audience screaming and cheering, you would have a nice chorus of crickets chirpping.

I got a good laugh just thinking about you guys on stage with all the crickets "applauding".

    Sounds like fun!
