    Good news for me

So after my music theory class today, I talked to the band director of my school. Asked him if they would need a bass player for next semester. He replies, "Well, why don't you sit in and play today?" I agreed and went to the bandroom to find the bass they have. I find it and it's a G&L JB-2. First thing I notice is the horrible stringing and rusting bridge. It, in general, looked like crap. Well, I plug it in to the Peavey rig they had set up and realized it sounded about as good as it looked.

On to the playing; we sat and played for about 10 minutes. The director then looks at me and says, "If you'll play for us, i'll make sure you have a FULL scholarship next semester and next year."

So Stanky is having a good day. Had to share.

WOOO HOOO! I'm so proud of you, Stanky! Even if you were given a shoebox with rubber bands on it you'd rip it up and make that scholarship! Three cheers for Stanky!

That's a great story, congrats man! So if they are giving you a scholarship, you are more or less getting "paid" to play bass. Stanky the "professional" bass player! Awesome, you are definitely on your way.
