Pots and Wood on SR5 Buttercream?

So big brown just dropped off my new to me fretless SR5 Buttercream. Very nice. And lighter than my SR4.

But I do have two questions for those in the know:

    1. What type of wood is used on the Buttercream?

    2. The mid pot has a center dent but the bass and treble do not. Is this normal or is something not right?

    Thanks,
    LeonD

I believe the body is ash. (Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.)

The bass and treble should have center detents too. Just loosen the set screw on the knobs and remove them. Set the pot to the center detent (you will feel it when you turn it back and forth) and then replace the knobs on the shafts with them still in the center position. That should fix them.

And congrats on the new bass!
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.
