They come with the case. Is this a used bass you are buying? The seller should really let you have the case too.

Guitar Center rang up the case on mine as a separate item, so I guess it is possible to buy the bass without getting the case.

    A kinder, gentler collection...

Not in the UK, as far as I know. We really need someone from EBMM to clarify this. I wouldn't buy used without the case. Wait a while, one with case is bound to show up.

AFAIK, the case was never optional as far as MusicMan was concerned. Guitard Center has a habit of splitting instruments and cases when they come in, although it's primarily a scheme to make the price look better - get you hooked and THEN tell you you have to pony up more dough if you actually want the standard case. Myself, I think that sucks, but it's their business, so they can do as they see fit . . . .

It can be good, I guess, if you are low on cash - you can get the instrument now, and the case next month when you can afford it.

In your case (no pun intended) you might see if you can find out where the bass came from originally - they might still have the case on hand.

I HATE guitar center! Everytime I buy a guitar or bass there, they pull that crap! I traveled 75 miles to buy my sr because he told me the price was $&*^*, and then I got there and it was $150 more, because the case was $150. They did that when I bought my Taylor from them too. I had to fight to get my price, but did. They should'nt be aloud to do that! I wouldn't buy there anymore, but what are ya gonna do, they have a great selection, and I hate to wait for anything.

I am really lucky with my GC> The cvase was standard and was not in the price. In fact, my 30th didnt cost me much more than a regular SR4 H. The guy I go to at GC has always hooked me up with very fair prices, but I know that experience is far and few.

Honestly, if that guy is selling a 30th, he should also have the case. I would check out what the deal is, it doesnt sound right.

The 30th SR4s came with the special case. The case was included in the price of the instrument.

The cases couldn't be ordered separately. If you wanted the case, you had to buy the bass. (I sound like one of OJ's lawyers.)

But in the end you got what you wanted at the price you wanted to pay? I don't think I'd hate that if I were you.

I think I'd be glad to find a place like that, even if they make you work a little.

GC is one of EBMM's biggest retailers. Tread lightly here fellows. And Jack, there is a term called "the art of persecutory writing," I think you just gave us an example.

please, when it comes down to it, people wil buy where the price is the best, especially with guitars and basses. None of the companies that retail are really worth using for any repairs that a warranty wouldnt cover, so that wont bring a person back to a retailer. A good price will. AA good price trumps someone internet ranting about a retailer.

Please? You haven't been around here very long... This subject has come up before.

"work a little"? Most of the time I have to throw a real hissy fit... I just hate when retailer plays a game like that. It would be worse I guess if they tried to sell it at full price without the case, but still...who in their right mind would buy a $1200.00 guitar or bass without a case to put it in? Oops, maybe I just offended some folks...sorry. As far as GC goes, I am still a great customer of theirs. Everytime I step in the door I manage to drop at least a $1000. My wife has forbid me to go there even for picks and strings until this bass is paid for.

    I'd complain...

When I bought my 30th at GC, the case was manditory. I wouldn't have bought it without that wonderful case anyway. I have bought other EBMM basses there without cases, but for the 30th I was told that it was included in the price and couldn't be discounted without (as I said, I wouldn't have anyway)...

I've said it before and I'll no doubt say it again - Guitar Center is what it is, and for those of us who grew up in small-town America, life was much worse before GC came along. No selection, inability to really play instruments, snobby salespeople who knew a lot about selling organs in the mall - and so on.

As far as GC goes, I am still a great customer of theirs.
Here, too. Drives my wife crazy.
