Cases... the long and short of it.

So, I have two EBMM molded black plastic cases. They are both the current design. They both have the Stingray/Sterling type cutout inside and they fit my 'Rays (and SUB) like a glove. One of them, however, is about two inches longer than the other. Did the case designs change recently or does EB have two different sizes of case for Stingrays? I wish both of them were the shorter variety--easier to pack around in my vehicle. Are the shorter ones available?

I have both style cases too. I thought the larger case was incorporated because it is more universal and also fit the Bongo.

Ahhh, that sounds reasonable. That would explain it.

Funny thing, I just noticed this too today when I stacked my new Sterling case next to my others.

Now my other basses have case envy!

I think they built the long ones because the Bongo 5's wouldn't fit . If anything the Sterling needs an even smaller case.

That is what I thought too. I was afraid to say since I wasn't sure.

LOL a Bongo 5 changed the EB cases.

No it has changed the world.

My Sr5, sr4 and Bongos 4&5 all had the same size case. The Sterlings all came in a shorter case. Don't know if that means anything.

Yep, my 2 'Rays have different sized cases, too. I was wondering about that.
