BP, thanks for the story. What can I say that hasn't already been said? I'm a little late to the thread after being without easy/quick/reliable internet access while visiting friends and family overseas. Anyway, thanks again.

BP you showed my wife and I what you were about in Dallas. I hope you and your's have enjoyed Crhistmas like me and mine has.

There just is no better class act in this world than the Ball family.

    IMHO

I have seen it with my own eyes.

    It is all fun.

I love reading the personal grit, the heart and soul that makes a good company tick. Thanks, BP.

Hope this doesn’t sound too philosophical, but the hero’s journey always seems to involve members of his or her own family turning against them. Only a soul who is not believed is cast upon his deepest convictions, and only there can they become tested and genuine. That takes balls, not just luck. Maybe you’ve been blessed with both.

    Respectfully,
    Bruce

Candid...very interesting thought..hard to apply as I dont see myself as a hero but it has the potential to answer a few questions if I allow myself a little delusion...

BP, heroes aren’t afforded the luxury (ego trip) to perceive themselves as heroes. They’re too busy doing what they do. But your dad is a hero to you, even if he wasn’t unto himself, right?

The context of hero here is as in Joseph Campbell’s mythological sense. And, in that sense, there’s a potential hero in everyone. You know, the one who goes his or her own path, against the tides of convention, and sometimes against all odds.

From here, you fit the archetype well.

So, who would you want to play Sterling Ball in a movie?

Extra credit if you pick someone he's played golf with.

Who the heck are they gonna get to play Luscious?
Big Al 5SSS Sunburst, rosewood fretboard, tort, EB Flats

Franken-Bongo 5 HHp (The Billy Bass), daphne blue, mint pickguard, EB flatwound strings

Franken-Bongo 5 SHp (aka Moby Dick, the White Whale), black fretted neck with a abalone pickguard, EB Slinkys and a BassMute.

    Bill Murry to play BP
And Lusious? ... thats a hard one ... maybe Robin Williams ... he's harry enough

I also wanted to thank you BP for sharing. Lucky Sperm or not, you are one of the few "real" people left in this world.
You treat others as you would want to be treated.
    Thank you for that!!
