Talking OT: Selling on EBAY is KWAZY!

Geez! I've been up half the night answering questions from potential buyers!

Does this always happen? I'm kinda new to the whole selling thing. I mostly just buy.

And rarely ask questions of the seller. It's usually just a cd or something........And that doesn't require much inquiry!

And some people do this for a living? EEK!

The questions from potential buyers have certainly become more moronic since I first started ebaying in 2001.

Has anybody asked you what it weighs yet? I always get that one and never remember to put it on my auctions...

    A kinder, gentler collection...

I love the 800 emails I usually get about shipping to another country after I specifically say US only. Those E-bayers are a wild and crazy bunch.

    Argh!

    "Is this bass "VINTAGE"?

Uh, no.....That's why it says "2006" in the description.......

"I know that. But is it VINTAGE"?

    UGH!

    Oh wait.............

    Here's another...............

"Is the ax on this guitar straight"?

Huh? Do you mean the neck? And you're just trying to sound cool?

"How does this bass compare to my Fender bass".

    Uh, it doesn't..............

"Does this bass come in black"?

    NO...........................

There is a new phishing scam that is coming through as an ebay question on your auction. Someone says that they saw another auction with your item listed and they are being helpful by giving you the link so you can see for yourself.

    DON'T CLICK THAT LINK!!

I've bought a number of things from sellers who list their items as US only, often they're only too happy to sell to Europe at least.

Same here David.... Often a polite message steering the seller to your feedback does the trick. Brad can vouch for this for the 30th, personally that transaction was the sweetest international one I've had yet.

Dude, I hear ya. I've had 4 auctions in the last week and I feel like all I've done is answer questions. But it comes with the territory- and it's better than no inquiries at all.

I don't like eBay cause if I actually "win" an item, I paid the most for it!
Also, I find it annoying with the constant bid wars going on and people trying to snipe items with 1min left...although I guess it could be considered thrilling.

If I want something, I just buy it.

I've never sold anything on eBay, but my friends mom broke her leg trying to do it.
She climbed up on her toilet to take pictures of some "bathroom sinkside" items she makes/sells, when she fell off the toilet.

    Sellers Beware!
