My ray's in a MM hard case, but my jazz is in a Ritter RG9000 gig bag. I'd highly recommend them, but they aint cheap. Too late for you now of course, that sucks, but I'd want an explanation from the manufacturer of the bag for sure.

Sorry to hear that. I'm not anti-gig bag, in fact, I find it a great way to haul 2 basses to a gig (double gig bag). But I'll be more careful after reading your post and you always have to be extra careful in the car with a gig bag. Thanks for sharing.
