If you want exercises, just do simple shape patterns on the fretboard.

EG... an "X" pattern would look like 1st string 1st fret, 2nd string 2nd fret, 3rd string 3rd fret, 3rd string 1st fret, 2nd string 2nd fret and 1st string 3rd fret. Of course this can be moved anywhere on the neck, on a 5 string, etc...

Yep - got it... But in this particuar case, I am looking for specific melodies that are so inate, I can adjust for proper intonation (fretless play). All about ensuring that I am playing the note I am hearing in my head.

So far my favorite is "Pop goes the weasel" - on the four string, this forces me to change positions for the higher notes.

The other favs at the moment are "Alouette", "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb".

I used to mess with the "Star Spangled Banner" - will definitely run through that as well!

Sorry Beth - I don't do much TV... Can't say I've ever watched the "King of the Hill"...
