    Bongo and Headphones.........

I posted this once before about a year ago. So this is for the ones who missed it or for the newbies......

If you plug your headphones directly into your Stingray, Sterling, or Bongo you should be able to play and hear some great tones. Play without disturbing others or play uninterupted.....

It is also a great way to adjust pickup height to your liking.........

I plug in-ear molds directly into the bongo, so there is no need for an external preamp. Large Headphones tend to breakup and dont isolate as well.

It also works on SUBS. I love the tone I get through a pair of big headphones straight into the bass.

Sure it's true, I can run my bass into Sennheiser HD25, and with all tone controls dimed it's even pretty loud
bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

    Stingray 5 Classic, coral red
Bongo 5 H, Dargie Delight, in some cave somewhere...
Bongo 5 HH, Black w/ rosewood neck
Heinz The Wonder Bass, going back to Jack...

Do you hear a thump when first plugging the phones in?

Does one channel sound a little "off"?

Could someone please 'splain to me what happens under this scenario with the battery current that would normally flow from the instrument jack's ring to its sleeve, therefore powering the onboard preamp?

    Thanks.

The preamp has enough boost to drive a set of headphones. It not loud, but loud enough to have a decent audible tone at a comfortable listen level.

You can take your bass anywhere you want and be able to hear what your playing. Works very well in the middle of the night when others are resting.

Out back under a shade tree, in the bathroom, bedroom or in your car. Your imagination is your limitation. It's not rocket science, just a way of listening without pluging into an amp..........
