trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!
T-bone, my Stingray affliction started at 40 too, and I'm afraid it just gets worse as you get older. In it's later stages it turns into Bongolism and from that there's no way back...![]()

I've only being playing a 5 for the last year or so (and a 5 'Ray for only a couple of weeks) and from a "here's a ton of extra low notes to play with" point of view it's amazing. But, I keep getting mixed up as to where I am on the strings, I want to just slap that B with my thumb thinking it's the E. It's crazy, it's only one extra string fer crissakes and sometimes it's all fine but other times I just get completely thrown.
I know, I know, practice, practice...

Well, the first step to recovery is admitting the problem. Oh, wait...this isn't a problem!!

B.P. - Oh this isn't a problem. I can control it, really. With the posible exception I find myself at work, logging in to this forum, reading about others who are every bit as addicted (and even more so for people like Jack) as I. Dreaming about that 20th and just how I would play a 5 string, instead of working on any number of projects I have going right now.
And don't get me started about those Bongos.

That 20th SR5 can really screw you up.
I find myself drifting off in the middle of conversations or whatever, thinking, "I sure wish I could just go play that 20th."
