    Drop C Buzz?

Hello, I just Upgraded from a Ibanez to a Stingray. The Ball is AWESOME. The one issue I have though is during a jam session last night we were playing a song with a E to drop C. While playing a drop C when pressing on the 4th fret I was getting lots of fret Buzz. I know it is quite a drop, but my old Ibanez had no problem with this.. Any thoughts?

    Thanks - Jeff from Colorado

Perhaps a truss rod tweak would remedy this? I'm not an expert, but changing the string tension may cause the neck to move just enough to make the buzz.

E to C is a long stretch of road. Yes, try the wheel. And maybe a heavier string to keep the flop out.

Personally I'm still afraid to tweak my own rod, even after 14 years of playing...

But I will say heavier strings will help. The last band I used my Blue Sprakle 'Ray (have I mentioned that I miss that bass) in used drop C... I can't remember the exact gauge I used but the E was about the diameter and strength of a lead pipe... no buzz
they say absence makes the heart grow fonder... so go away!

    Current basses: None (but looking)

    Previous basses:

Stratus Blue Sparkle 'Ray with maple and matched stock (owned twice, sold twice, and regretted selling twice)

Lava Pearl 'Ray with maple and matched stoch

    Lava Pearl Bongo 4HH

Carbon Ble Pearl Sterling with maple board

Man that's a drop, the only way it'll work is Loosen your truss rod and raise the E string till buzz is gone.

Maybe next year I can talk my wife into a five string But i think the bigger guage is my best bet now. Maybe go from a 100 to a 105. WIth adjusting the truss rod, any suggetions? Is there any danger of tweaking it wrong? Thanks for all your help ballers!
