    HD 500 help request

Hi everyone. I used the search function on this and some other web pages that were mentioned, all with no luck. I've seen similar requests as mine, but still haven't found the answer. I did however see a picture of the footswitch that was to be used with this amp. It had a single 1/4" cable and plug (TRS I presume) going to a footswitch that had 4 buttons. I was hoping that a new thread might do the trick.
I played around with a boss fs-6 that has two seperate channels to switch, both of which have the ability to change between latch and momentary. Switch 1 seemed to control the mute and boost functions. When pressed, the amp would change between a boosted sound and then to a mute. Am I supposed to be able to controll the boost manually?
Switch 2 seemed to change channels. At first, channel 2 of the amp would light up, then switch to nothing (no light) on channel 1 when the switch was pressed again, but I could hear a sound in the amp as it switched channels. I manually changed, without the footswitch, between channels 1 and 2 and I seemed to get about the same reaction but the amp does light the channel 1 indicator light.
I just got this amp and am very happy with it so far, I just want to be able to use it right. Thanks a million in advance.

My HD-500 (The version two) has the 4 button footswitch, but it is a 6 pin DIN connector to the head from the switch - no 1/4" in sight . . . I did find the schematics for the thing, but no owners manual . . . Looking at the version one, it only had a three button footswitch, and looked like it might be using a 1/4" plug . . .

if that helps you any. At any rate, it should tell you absolutely everything you would want to know on how to wire the footswitch . . .

Thanks for the info. Seems that I'll be using the Boss FS since I don't have the 6 pin connector.

The DIN connectors are easy to get - try Mouser Electronics - Electronic Component Distributor for one place. My local electronics supplier typically has a couple of hundred in stock any day I show up as well - they are pretty common items. Are your sure that your amp is the V2 with the DIN connector? The V1 appeared to only use three pins . . . .
