I guess I'm so old that the appeal of the diamond plate p/g goes right over my head. It's a good thing you play with a pick instead of your fingers though.

I acutally play with my fingers 90% of the time. It works great because the ridges pretty much create instant thumb rests all over the bass.

I usually rest my thumb on the pickup, just habit I guess

Oh no! I'm too old for it. Anyway, my thumb doesn't need as much rest as the rest of me does!

I don't know. The original was straight black and I didn't like the dark rosewood fret board next to a dark black PG. I always thought that a white pearloid would look the best.
