    My opinion regarding your ?:

The Ampeg SVT CL will yield a different sound than the SWR, an all-tube power section vs. a solid-state with a tube preamp.

Apples & Oranges; both good choices.

    Now where's my prize?

umm...what prize? i don't know anything about any prize....

    umm..your prize is this!
    Nin playing Stingray

    yeah..theres your prize...

    the choice is very personal.

SWR 750x for me is just a very loud amp. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't find its tone interesting at all.

SVT-CL is a classic. But I don't like that either because I'm not a vintage sound fan.

The MB 400+ now is a great piece of equipment. I really like this one. And it hasn't got the complexities of a solid state......

The Fafner is the best amp in the world for slapping. It has a tube preamp but it is not an all tube model.

The TD 650 is very powerful but it seems better for metal and rock.

The Glockenklang amps are the jet set. But they're sometimes annoyingly clear.

    I hope I was helpful.
