It was a stressful time for me and I know for several others it had to be even more stressful. I got my Dargie after calling him everyday for a week but I did get it, others weren’t so lucky.

I own a Lakland, it’s a good “copy” of a Jazz bass, I bought it from Beaver way before I discovered EBMM, but it pissed me off when Dan stuck up for Dude. I could easily see thru the BS, why couldn’t he.

You can blame it all on drugs if you want to, but he screwed so many of my friends I’ll never forgive him. I do hope he gets straight, but just so he might feel some of the pain he caused.

BP you and Jack took some very undeserved heat from this mess, I know who’s the blame. I have a bass on order from you right now and have every intention of buying more of your products. Good stuff, good people and good vibes, that’s what EBMM is all about. It’s a shame that this all happened but it hasn’t changed a thing for me, I’m an EBMM guy first and foremost!

One policy I have for my life is:
    No good comes from backstabbing

    That's just me...

Here is where it stands (Understatements of the month candidates)
Dude has told me several times that I can call him what ever degrading name I feel is appropriate. There's plenty that he is due.
Dude finally did refund my $ but that was no fncking fun.
Because of some choices Dude makes I have my own standards that make me not want to associate with him.

I thought long and hard about the following statement to describe how I feel about Dude.

Dude's problems run deeper than my care.

For me this is a closed issue.

I guess the Dude and Lakland may have separated and there is some question as to where the deposits are....It is just what hear I dont know all of the facts but lets see if Dan Lakin who got involved and published a letter of support for the dude effectively taking sides against us takes care of his customers...we did.....

How many people who slandered jack and I will offer an apology? not enough class there to expect that.
Looking at the dates, it seems that thread was started back in -03. I´ve never bought anything from Steve but I visit the Dudepit forum every once in awhile since the best forum regarding Wal basses are there. Hard to know what´s going on behind the scenes but it definately seems like he´s in some sort of personal crisis now and that is always sad when that happens to someone. Saw over at the Pit that he is selling off and putting his vintage instruments business to rest. Not a word regarding Lakland problems tho. I won´t get into politics and drama in the business but it seems like someone has made errors abit to many times when reading the thread over at Talk Bass and concidering the trouble between Steve and EB. I´m very greatful tho that he supports the Wal forum and so are pretty much all people interested in Wal basses around the world since they´re not made no more and Pete "the Fish" Stevens health is not the best. Sad thing. Pete is one of the good guys in the business. And I don´t think that Steve gets any money for doing this. At least not from me. So I personally can´t judge him and wish that he´ll burn in hell but I feel sorry indeed for people that has made down payments and has problems with Steve. That is no fun. No fun at all.

    Sincerely//Jan

I have that strange feeling there's a big specimen of a pleonasm in the title of this thread, but I'm having a hard time finding it out...

Not sure I understood all the subtilities of that story, but I just wish every customer who made a deposit will get the care he/she needs.
So many changes coming in an ordinary bass player's life :
    - New cover band soon
    - New rock band soon
    - New trio soon
    - New bass soon (he he he...)

Actually please don't, if the TB thread is to stay open. I argued against closing it so it wouldn't fall into obscurity. If the TB thread strays too far from the Lakland topic it will get closed.

ON wards and upwards.....I resented being called the dog that ate his homework and thought Dan should have stayed out of it. It would be nice to see the deposits taken care of.....
