    OT:Mesa Walkabout Markbass 121p

Well does anyone here have the mesa walkabout scout? Im looking for a new combo and there is little competition,

    Markbass 12" combo
I think it sounds great but lacks in the bottom end

    Mesa Scout 12" combo
Sounds great, warm not as good voicing as the markbass but as I said warm and fills the room.

    Line 6 combo
    I tried the 10" combo
only 75watts, not as loud as I wanted but sounded good and had great lows, louder and handled better lows than the Gk 12" combo I tried and the roland 12" combo I tried, Maybe the line 6 12" combo with 150 watts will be perfect..

Anyways I really just wanted to think what someone with the walkabout scout thought, as in what it could handle ect,

If I did get it, it would also come with the 12" extension cab.
Im basicly looking for something to replace my ampeg 8x10 and 1001rb gk head, its way overboard for what I need, which at the time is only for church, and I only keep the head at 1/4 power for that.

I will be keeping the 8x10 as its not worth enough to sell.. And hopefully if ever needed I would use it with the head I get from the combo, markbass or mesa..

I have the walkabout scout 12, and I looove that lil mutha.
It works grrrreat for both DB and electric.
That 12" cab is both deeper and louder than it has any right to be.
It will run all night at 2 ohms.
The head comes out in under 30 seconds for use with whatever other bigger cab you like.

    I returned a MarkBass 2x10 combo and bought a 12" Scout.
Pound for pound & for its size there's nothing better. I thru
a couple TungSols in and it even got better!!

Great quality, very, very loud and rich sound for it's size.
Not many bar/club gigs this thing could not handle on its own.
<Maybe> you might need an ext. for an outdoor or very large gig
but I'm very impressed by this combo.

I played one once on a gig and it sounded great.

My solution has been a used Eden Wt300 and an avatar 1x12, with a 1x15 backup, and that's been great. Not exactly a combo, but the Wt300 goes into a shoulder bag.

I must have had a bum Mesa, because I bought a Walkabout Scout, shook the walls with it at home, took it to band practice and could not hear it! Granted, we are a loud band, but I use a Yorkville 200W combo at practice and could hear that on 3 or 4, I had the Mesa dimed and couldn't hear it over the band. It must be a bum one because 2 other people have bought it and returned it since I did.
I've seen a million basses, and I rocked them all!
Currently rocking with Shakedown, exclusively on a 2008 Candy Red Bongo.

I've got the Walkabout, and a Mesa 400+. I still take the 400+ to the big gigs, because, well, I'm strong of back and weak of mind, but I dare say the Walkabout sounds better to me. And it is loud as you need it to be.
If the 600.....whatever it is, sounds like the walkabout, I'm in the market for a new amp.

Mesa M-pulse 600 is what you mean, I think.
It's a little "pure-er and less tubey" than the walkabout; and waaay more powerful.
    Another great choice.
It has one more band of semi-para eq, and a great comp/limiter.

Are these things available online? Musician's Friend doesn't carry them and I was curious how much they cost.

My local GC's have plenty of MarkBass gear but stopped carrying
    the Mesa Boogie stuff.

The lowest I've seen for the 12" Boogie Scout was $999.
