Kudos to EB Sterling Bass

I am writing this to give my upmost praise to Ernie Ball and the Sterling Bass. I have been on what seemed like an endless search for that one bass that makes me
I guess you would call it "the one," bass players know what I mean - most have one bass that is their favorite - the one they grab for that special gig - their 'go to' bass if you will. Well for the longest I have been looking for that one, I have tried Pedulla, Dingwall, Laklaned, Tobias, Wal, Fender, Peavey, ESP, Yamaha....well you get the idea. My search ended when I found an Ernie Ball Sterling four string at a local Guitar Gallery. I am in love. I have yet to play a bass guitar that can hit those barking highs while holding it's own on the bottom. This bass does that and much more - additionally it is the best looking bass I have ever seen. This post may seem silly and it probably is but I am thrilled to have become a part of such a great guitar and the people who play them. God bless and Merry Christmas.

for me the right blend of wood and electronics in the tone,a neck to die for and flat out cool looking. that's the Sterling

That's cool, Big C. That's how I feel about my SR4. About to go look at a 30th at GC. I think I'll play a Sterling while I'm there, inspired by your post. It's been a long time since I've played one. I'm lucky that my local GC has ~20 EBMM basses in stock at any given time - a mix of Bongos, SR's and Sterlings. And it IS Christmas time, after all. =)

Where in Alabama are you? I grew up in Birmingham. Live in San Diego now.

I live in Millbrook, just outside of the capital of Montgomery. And thanks for the reply, to you and everyone else - and I must agree the Sterling is the best damn bass ever made and ever played!

I'm a very infrequent poster on this site, but simply had to add my kudos too. I've had my Sterling since the summer of '93, and still play it now as much as I did back then. I've had roughly 20 or say basses come and go since then yet the Sterling stays.

It's the perfect balance between feel and sound. Every drummer I've played with in the past 10 years or so, highly prefer the sound of my Sterling over any others. Only my Roscoe Beck V and my P even come close to being requested... even then they are in a distant second. I did a reunion tour with a band from the '70s a few years back and I was requested to play it over my P on certain tunes.

I second your thoughts! THere is nothing quite like the feel of a Sterling in my opinion. I love my Rays, but there is something so comfortable about the Sterling that just begs to be played!
