    I say "holy smokes, Imandan, you caught me off guard, and I though you were going to request a BONGO BFR or at least a quilt top for all us woodgrain lovers

    u can always use a screw driver and remove the pickguard...

    How about a clear pickguard?

    I also like the idea of wood top Bongos.

    A Bongo with a fancy top would mean a very thick top, I guess, because of all the bevelling on the bongo.
    Now a mahogany Bongo otoh, now that'd be sweeeeeeet!
    bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
    Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...

    Most lam tops I've seen are about 1/16 inch but I was really thinking more of a thicker top on bass wood. A solid maple/mahagony/ash/etc. body would be fine too.

    Then there's always FotoFlame...
