    Sterling wiring question

I know it is not heavily supported to do mods to Ernie Ball basses,

However I would like to ask a few questions..

1 Would it be possible to buy new pots that affect diffrent frequencies of the cut or boost.

2 would it be possible to wire a sterling H/S in parallel instead of series?

    And one more question.....

On the sterling with the pickup position in the middle, so that the coil closest to the bridge is on, where is the phantom coil? Is it the other coil? Or is there one I don't know about...

I want to add something to this thread....

This one may not get an answer....

In this diagram they lable the coils as 1 2 & 3

I would really like to know if it would be possible to change the wiring to be like this...

    [Same]Position 1 Coil 1 & 2
    [Diffrent]Postion 2 Coil 2 [instead of 1]
    [Diffrent]Position 3 Coil 1 & 3 [instead of 1, 2 & 3
    [Same]Position 4 Coil 2 & 3
    [Same]Position 5 Coil 3

I know modifications are not very welcome, but this WOULD be a bass that I would keep, [I know it would hurt resale value]

I guess I could easily tell myself weither this would or wouldn't work... Keeping it all series would definatly make things easier for me, however I just need to know how the 5 way switch works...

Is is just 5 sets of 2 connections that as for position 4 would run from the switch to coil 2 then 3 and then back to the switch?

Is there anywhere I can get a sterling wiring diagram?

Looking at a sterling preamp it appears the switch is wired to the board and im not sure where the pickup comes in at, but according to this...

the pickup conncts to the 3-way switch..

I think I'll have to bring this to a professional..
