    Unhappy more blasphemy...

OK, so I'm getting ready for some shows in the summer and what is normally a 3 guitar band is now going to be 1 guitar, drums and bass. So after racking my brain to see how I could really fill out the sound harmonically and sonically it came to me... "this is a rock band.... with some grinding songs.... USE A PICK!" now ya gotta understand, I'm an exclusive finger player with occaisonal flirtations with my thumb but i tell ya, it's exactly what's gonna help 'fill out the jockeys' come showcase time
any other reluctant but happy plectrummers???

I use a pick every once in a while. Not because I have to, but simply because it's fun.

I'm about 90% fingerstyle, but the fact is that you can only get pick sounds out with a pick. Period.

If I solo the neck pickup on my Bongo, and play with a palm mute/pick, it sounds great--and, it's not a sound that is easily duplicated with straight ahead fingerstyle.

Don't fear the pick--embrace your plectrum!

I've used plectrum since day one. I also do a fair amount of finger and slap, but pick is where its at for me. You should see the collection of different picks I have.

Never had the patience or the need to use a pick so I never got it down. Maybe if I played had played left handed I could have gotten the hang of it. Something just doesn't feel right when I try to use a pick.
Starting to think about returning to bass playing in the very near future.

I use a pick 90% of the time. Feels normal for me cause I started out with it.

I only use a pick to fool around a bit when I practice at home on my one. I always played with my fingers, and I'll keep on doing that I guess Our drummer always complains that I should play with a pick, but he wouldn't even hear the diffirence. He never even pays attention to the bass during the songs, and since he's not a good drummer, I can't rely on him as well. So there's only one solution: another drummer
