    Today was a good day

Technically, these all arrived yesterday, but I didn't get time to check them all out and do photos until today. Apparently, I also figured out the secret to bringing in three new basses without advance warning to the wife.

I'm not keeping the 5ers though (that helps).

Yep, I intended to do a Thunderdome with the SR5s (two basses enter, one bass leaves!) and keep the one I liked better. Then I bought Jack's 30th anniversary, and that won.

I think it's actually autumn redburst -- definitely sparkly. Very sparkly.

You're right - I stand corrected. There is a hint of sparkle in the pic. Cool! I'd take a 30th over those two SR5s (don't tell Stanky)!

Every time I had a bass over to a shipping company, I hold my breath until it arrives safely.

    Whew!

You're going to enjoy that one, Jake.

    Thanks again!

Man I think I might be falling for the SR5, as much as I want a bongo. Definitely cool basses.

I've learned for experience that if I can't keep something, I need to move it out quick, and not play around with it any more than I need to to make sure it's set up well, etc. Looks like I already have a buyer for the autumn redburst, so that's one down.

Also, apparently a good way to bring in three basses without having prepared the wife is to do an impression of the Count from Sesame Street. I live in a condo, so I had to bring each bass up one at a time. "One bass ... ah ah ah." [back out the door, return in a minute or two] "Two basses ... ah ah ah." [one more trip downstairs] "THREE basses ... ah ah ah."

For some reason that worked. I make no guarantees, though.

im sure the sparkle will find a home quickly

just put flats on the bongo!!
just put roundwounds on your fretless!!

    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!
