My MM SR belt buckle 1978

I saw a couple of other threads but no pictures on this, so I thought I'd share.

I bought this Music Man Stingray belt buckle around the same time I bought my first Stingray, around 1978 or 79. If I remember right, I bought this at a head shop in Fremont California. I've never used it but it was such a novelty, I have never gotten rid of it either. I love the detail.

I had one of those. But I gave it away as a present.

    A kinder, gentler collection...

WHOA! I still have mine too! Bought minein '80 from a street vendor near pier 39; I'll have to look for it. I bought it after buying my first SR4.....the one I shouldn't have sold.

The company that made mine is Baron Buckles. They're still out there but they have mostly patriotic ones listed on their website. I'd bet one of their late 80's staffer's must have had to have had a SR at home...

    Oldman,

You sure that wasn't a "head shop" in Niles instead of Fremont?

Yes, but this, the very thing that idolises the bass may also damage it... I'm talking about buckle rash people.

Although, I suppose it could be worn to the side to avoid this.

    TNT,
Yeah, it could have been in Niles. Head shops don't tend to leave one's memory in very good shape, but they do wonders for raiding the 1/4 Pound Burger joint at High St and MacArthur in your home town. Hence the need for a belt bukcle...

There was one of these belt buckles on ebay a couple months ago I wanted to get. I was watching/bidding on it, then it disappeared.

    Oldman,

1/4 Pound Burger, High & McArthur - a land mark!!!!

Yeah, we had a studio near there back in the day. Playin' at the Long Branch Saloon and Jerry's Stop Sign.

Man, I wish I had my Axis back then!!

    Oh, the memories!!
