i love the markbass f1 for its small size, incredible power/weight ratio, the razorsharp dynamics and last but not least: the filters.. does pritty much anything from stainless steel 0.30-0.90 mark king trace elliot slappa slappa to muddy ampeg (not the full tube grit, but enough)

With a Bongo bass I use atomic power; sure it’s heavy with all the lead shielding but I’m just saying…

I used hybrids in the past (SWR, Eden,) but my Mark bass is just as goog and lighter.

in todays world everyone calls a 12ax7 in the preamp a tube amp, a real SVT is a real tube amp, there's a few others which have real tubes for power and pre and I'm sure they sound great, but Eden,SWR etc with their little pre amp tubes don't make it a tube amp.
Just my opinon of course.

Tube means ALL tube - all the way!! As in Ampeg SVT-VR.

Why thread that MM bass thru anything else???

I have 2 tube amps that I mostly use at home or for special gigs, and a hybrid for most gigs.

I'm using the Peavey BAM...Digital me thinks. Bass Modelling AmP. Pretty cool. I usually take that direct out the back and put it through the house.

Why? It nails the Flip Top sound, which is my main recording rig, but at three times the volume, which I need. I use my amp for monitoring these days, so subltey, at times comes into play.

I love the old SVT sound..but good lord I can barely lift my kids. I'm over the fridge rig. Plus, to me, there is no real 'need' for it, I can get that sound of of my Sans Amp or POD...yeah...doesn't feel the same on stage though.

I really love that little Mark Bass head now though, that thing sounds incredible.

I voted Hybrid, but could have also voted Digital because I have both.

My main stage rig is a Genz-Benz GBE1200 hybrid head and a GB610T-XB2 cabinet.

My smaller rig for studio and small gigs is a Line 6 Lowdown LD300 Pro

Stingray 5 sounds awesome with both.

I voted hybrid because I love the simplicty of my SWR Super Redhead. Great DI for FOH and sounds great on stage.

I have been using my Pearce BC1 and a Carvin Power amp for my newest gig (No bass through the PA) because my trusty old SVT II causes back spasms. (Getting old really sucks).

My Bongo through the Pearce/Carvin/Goliath II sounds great, so I just as easily could have gone all solid-state. I am going to have to try the markbass stuff someday.

I figure everyone should have one of each, right?

I went with hybrid. its the best of both worlds. I have a small solid state ampeg ba110 its good but compaired to its big brother my ampeg svt 3 pro which (4 x 12ax7) it lacks warmth. In addtion to my ampeg hybrid head I also have a Pre fender SWR sm-400 (1 x 12ax7) which is great sounding amp.

Voted Digital, meant to denote a digital power amp. I love that concept simply because they pack so much power into so little weight.
