OK, for everyone who said that my method didn't work:

Just read carefully one of my previous posts from above and do it, here is the result!

Warning: this bass have huge "mileage" much over 1000 hard giggin' hours of play!

I do this at every strings change, so Yesterday I did it again!

All you need is transparent glass pump spray cleaner, white rough towel, strong hands/fingers and some free time!

After this treatment, wipe firmly with Wonder Wipes, so wood can get some grease, oil and other stuff from W. Wipes! Leave to dry well and than firmly polish with soft cotton cloth!

P.S. ...and guys, You can see the dirt which came out from the maple wood right on this towel by side (dirty spots)!

Anyone in Toronto know where the Wonder Wipes are sold? None of the chains appear to have them...
Long & McQuade should always have them stocked.

This Arf (doesn't matter the brand, Ajax do the same thing...etc) is regular transparent (that's important) glass (window) pump spray liquid detergent!

Very important: use only transparent stuff, so as white (non colored) towels, to avoid any possibility of coloring maple wood!

One more: -don't spray on the wood, ...spray direct, juicy, on the towel, ...put Your finger under the towel and than rub firmly, use some power, change direction, repeat a few times...etc.

I think You're getting the picture...
(this dirty towel picture speak more than words)

    Cheers!

Can you possibly write (let alone speak) without using the word "actually"?

I meant for this reply to go to "Hellboy" on page 1. I don't know why my reply ended up here on page 4 when I picked "reply" right under Hellboy's message. And, I don't mean to be over critical, I am just so tired of hearing people say "actually". And, "basically" and "absolutely" . . . thanks guys.

any reply becomes the next post, as they are sequential, you need to hit "reply with quote" so it's in context

Wow, way to make a first post. I just re-read Hellyboys post you were referring too and he said the word "Actually" twice and used them in proper context as well.

No offense guy but your first two posts make you come off sounding like your trolling the site and trying to be an English etiquette Nazi. How about join the site and contribute in a positive way, share some knowledge about any Music Man basses or guitars you have or maybe learn something from what others share.

Since this thread is still alive, back to the regular scheduled programing, I recently had a set of Slinky's kind of explode on my Maple board BA. After playing one night I put it on a stand and noticed the board and my fingertips were really black, way more than I've ever experienced. I thought I'd need to use something much stronger than the MM wipes, but they were outstanding. After cleaning it I threw on a set of Coated Slinky's and I can recommend them sonically as well as a way to prevent lines on the maple board. Can't wait to try the Cobalt's as well.
