Greetings Papobass, welcome to the forum!

The best thing to do in this situation is to contact Ernie Ball customer service. Click on this page for the phone number and email information:

While we love to play and talk about Ernie Ball instruments here, we aren't the best at diagnosing problems, especially since none of us can play your bass for ourselves. We like to leave it up to the experts at Ernie Ball customer service. I personally haven't heard of the particular problem that you're talking about.

So where are you from? What kind of music do you play? We'd love to see pictures of your Stingray 5!

    Peace,
    -Kristopher

I agree with everything Kris said and suggest you change the batteries, yes it could be just that simple. Welcome to the forum.

Does your amp have a setting for the input level?

    +1

Think it might be batteries. That happened when I got my first active bass, confused the hell out of me.
