Just got a call and I've been informed that my "Concert in the Park" this Saturday will be taped for broadcast on the local cable community channel.

Small time for sure, but hey, it's still "on TV"!

The Band is psyched - the township traditionally broadcasts the opener of the series. We were a hit last year and they asked us to open for 2008 but we passed - the opening date is the July 4th weekend and we were sure the turnout would be affected.

The opener this year was rained-out creating the opportunity for an alternate date and they're going with our show after all!

Congrats, I'm looking to give a Bongo air time in a couple of weeks as well.

I've scored a fill-in gig with a band that is being filmed for a cable TV channel here that is running a "behind the scenes" series on new bands. The guy found me on MySpace and offered me the gig and sent me a CD and set list. First rehearsal is Saturday, then we have just one more rehearsal before the gig, with a 3 piece horn section. I've never played with horns before, so it will be a great experience! 15 songs, mixture of originals and covers, blues/folk/rock genre. I'm thinking the recently discontinued Rolls Burgundy Bongo should get an outing for posterity.
