    Ball Flats

What is the tension like on the Ernie ball group II flats compaired to the Steve Harris flats. I'm looking for something lighter than the Harris flats but not as light as the TI's. Would the II's fall in the catagory or should I consider something else?

Also do the ball flats have the silk windings on them?

Blue silks. As to how they compare to Steve Harris flats, I have no earthly idea, never having used the SH's.

They have more tension than the TIs, though, that much is for sure, but not as much as those Fenders (9050s?). They remind me, tension-wise, of the Chromes.

Good flats, those Group IIs are.

My bad...They are Rotosound Steve Harris sig. strings. Pretty much the same as the Roto 77's 110-50. They are heavy duty, more like cables than strings.

Never used the Steve Harris Sig strings either, but I have Chromes on my P-bass, Fender Flats on my Stingray(changing to Chromes this weekend) and am putting Group II flats on my Bongo this weekend also.

I like the Chromes alot, not crazy about the Fenders, and am looing fwd to the Group II's.

    Cheers...

ANY flatwounds on the market and most railway lines are lower tension than the Roto Steve Harris set. From highest tension to lowest tension flats, this is how I'd rank them -

    Roto
    Fender
    Dean Markley
    Chromes / EB
    La Bella
    TI
