...last night I found this only picture of my 1978 Stingray as it was when I got it with the removed painting, this was 1989...
[sorry for the quality, but it's an old scanned pic]

Looking thru my old pics, I found that one:
I think the pic is about 1987-1988
I almost forgot that bass (the one in the middle).
This was another I bought mid of the '80s, again for about $200, different frets were missing or damaged, i bought it to our local guitar center and he made me an offer to repair it: too much!
..so he made a cheaper offer: make it a fretless!
When I listen to the old recordings, I have to say it had an incredible sound.
But I was young and in need of money, so I had to sell it...
I don't know what I would give today to have it back!

Hi guys,
loved looking at your basses, here is mine :
It was/is a 1989/90 EBMM StingRay 4. 3 band EQ, rosewood board, white w/ white scratchplate. Served me flawlessly for nearly 16 years.
If you ever wanted to know how tough a StingRay bass really is, it survived this (and is just about the only thing that did):

Adding a picture of my baby.(And realizing I need to clean the lens of my camera.

Here is my 1989 SR5. Sorry for the quality of the pics. I also did not have a spare B string at the time of the photos.
