Here's me 'new' 'Ray. It's so good it has replaced my modded Geddy Lee Jazz as my #1. I don't know it's date, but it has no switching jack and from looking at the musicmanbass.org site it seems to be 1979. Any help in dating would be greatly recieved, ta.

After years of playing Jazz's, plus a Warwick, Carvin and Lakland, I finally got a StingRay 5! It's a 96 that I friend sold me, he had 9 to choose from (he's down sizing) and I got the best one...pick of the litter!!! That my wife's Hello Kitty Strat, btw. I can't stop playing it. My band is recording some demos and I am happy as can be!!!

Here's my oldie but goodie workhorse. I currently am having the serial number deciphered (32104) to determine the exact build date. I got it as a gift from my parents when I was 13 (back in 92) but believe the bass is a little older then a 92.
This bass has been put through the mill and back (heavy touring and gigging)....still plays like new and the action is ludicriously low (like matchbook cover thickness), no buzzing. We play 1/2 step down and drop c# tuning..I use 105's for strings.
Currently trying to locate 2 thumb screws so I can reinstall the original bridge (I replaced it with a Wilkinson USA because I was pulling the strings off the stock saddles)..and also need a new input jack. The solder joints are fine..but I had to "jump" the board circuit to prevent it from cutting out. Seems the jack input is simply worn out. So now the battery is on 2/4/7 even when unplugged. But hey..you know, whatever gets you home.

Ok here's the lastest pics of my 90 SR4. I feel in love with it all over again and can not sell it. However spread the word I am selling the original mute plate spring and 2 thumbscrews with original washers..all mint. I posted a pick of that as well..details on eBay, 4 days left on auction as of 10/24/08
