Anyway, the Bongo is here and man right out of the box it was still in tune! It has flatwounds on it which I am still not to sure of but only time will tell. It is a killer bass sounds great, plays great and then some...everything I never knew I wanted in a bass.

Once you play that with the band you are so hooked.

    Glad you finally got it.

Question Perplexing, what color is this bass???

Here we go with some pics of the bad little monkey!!! It is a sweet bass, they called it Desert Gold but man it does not have a single bit of a gold tint, I have seen some here and on evilbay that are gold with an orange hue...can some out there confirm this color for me? To me it looks like Tangerine Metallic but what do I know?

Thanks, mystery solved...I bought it used from a Guitar Center, I was going by their description...I rarely buy anything from GC as most of the time they are pretty bad on their pricing. This time I feel I got a great deal for less than $810.00 shipped to my door!

oh.. and the eq. its so versatile, just a lil twist on the knob and you have a different sound...

nice bass even if you got a different color

    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

Love the color, actually looking back I am glad it is not Desert Gold. I really like the Lava Pearl, not that there is anything wrong with DG just prefer the "redder" (is that even a word?) over the more orange tint of the DG.

Again, thanks for the feedback from everyone and glad this is not a forum of snobs...well I should say arrogant snobs! The whole reason for forums is to be somewhat snobbish/loyal to a brand name, but arrogance is something else altogether!
