2 band Stingrays. Still produced?

This is a discussion on 2 band Stingrays. Still produced? within the Music Man Basses forums, part of the Gear Talk category; I`ve recently acquired a 1996 2band Stingray and sound terrific. I wondered if they were (or still are) an option ...

    2 band Stingrays. Still produced?

I`ve recently acquired a 1996 2band Stingray and sound terrific.

I wondered if they were (or still are) an option that coexisted with the 3 band model or if it`s no longer produced ?

    Thanks

2 Band EQ is still an option, but only when you order a Stingray with the single humbucker. If you order a Stingray with the dual pickups, you get a 3 band EQ.

Look at the 07 SR4 in my avatar.

My plan for the next one, is going to be a 2eq in the new sterling silver color.

Definitely seem to be in the minority, but they are my favorite among Stingrays!

There's quite a few, including me, who feel the same way you but 3 bands still sell about 20:1 if I recall the figure quoted on the forum correctly.

Most dealers don't even stock the 2 bands at all.
To me, that's the same as with colours: If you have no chance to see and try it, you'll not going to order it.
    Have bass. Will play.

Saw a couple in store yesterday. I played them, but not plugged in.

    My question is this:
Are they bass and treble boost only? There were no centre detents.

Yep, bass and treble boost only but I believe the way the frequency curves are designed there is a reduced bass level when the control is at zero so that to get a flat response you have to boost the bass somewhat.

From what I learned on this forum, the 2 band are bass boost only and treble cut and boost.
