Which cab to go with Stingray 30th Anniversary and GK 700rb-ii?

Hello, I'm new here and I recently acquired a 30th Anniversary Stingray (my first Stingray!). I also got a used GK 700RB-II head, but I don't know which cab to choose. I'm looking for something that' will sound good for practice in my room, as well as jamming in the future (I don't have plans for gigs yet).

What would you guys recommend for funk/rock? I heard GK is redesigning their Neo 112 and 212 cabs so they match with the 410 and 115, but I can't really wait for that. The Stingray is begging to be played with a decent rig

I was considering the current GK Neo 112 but then I thought it would be too small for my only cab. I thought two 112s would be nice, but then I might just get a 212 for less money. I heard many good things about Avatar cabs, but I want to give bi-amping a chance, and the prices in RMC Audio for GK gear are really low. I'm looking to spend between $350 and $550.

    Thanks.

I would go with a 4ohm Avatar B410 Neo. The only downside is that you wouldn't be able to add a cab later because of the ohms, but you would be getting the most out of your amp. If adding a cab later is a concern, then go with the 8ohm Avatar B410 Neo. I wouldn't be concerned with the bi-amping feature. The tweeter attenuator on the Avatar will essentially get the same result as the tweeter knob on the GK. If it's really important to you, it's not a huge deal to have the Avatar rewired.

I know there are better cabs out there, but this recommendation is based on the price range that you gave. IMO, the Avatar is the best cab in that price range. I have one and am very impressed with it.

the neo 212 and the 30th are an excellent combination!
you get a warm round sound but at the same time its got that 80'ies trace elliot hifi quality to it.. hard to explain, but its like you mix an old dirty ampeg and a nice trace rig at once...
find one and try if you can

less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

Okay, I'm considering Avatar. I didn't know they had a tweeter attenuator. I just have to decide between 1x212 or 2x112 now. Does anyone know how Avatars compare to GK?

Avatar cabs can hold their own against the GK cabs. They both have eminence speakers(specially designed for them) and cab construction is excellent on both.I played GK cabs(4*10 and 2*12's) for 6 years and i'm very happy with the sound of the Avatar.
