Staring contest. You. Me. Now.......
You win. You always do.
That is fantastic!
It looks like the 25th is going to be a stellar instrument, down the last detail.
I can't wait to try/hear one.
Wow...I'm really GASing for one of these. Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm thinking HS. I'm also thinking Ice Blue...is that something I'll have to wait until 2010 for? If so, not a problem. I've still got lot's of Bongo love and kid #2 coming end of March, so '09 would be difficult anyway.

BP,
Did you guys do anything different to the pre amp output level? … the reason I’m asking is that some companies difference in active and passive is so radical that the passive/active switching is hardly usable and only seems to be there as a failsafe. Since I have never heard a passive bongo/sterling/stingray next to an active one I was wondering how big of a volume difference are we going to see when switching back and forth? (Of course I realize that boosting the EQ will raise the volume, I’m looking for a difference relative to the Q set flat.)
In my opinion this is in no way a deal maker or deal breaker question so I understand if it goes unanswered. I just haven’t chimed in yet with a serious questions and I felt this would be an appropriate time to do so. Hope I’m not crossing and boundaries by asking this question.
Thanks

Can I ask a practical question? (Believe me I am really afraid to ask this time)
Given that:
1) A/P Stands for Active / Passive
and
2) S/P stands for Series / Parallel
the 4 knobs below the A/P and S/P switches are (I assume) Vol / Treble / Middle / Bass
Will there be a way to single out the coils on the humbuckers, thus allowing for even more switching combinations, i.e outer coils / inner coils or will the H p/ups always be on in dual coil mode.
Many Thanks in advance for the reply

What happened with the SSS? Was it dropped? Also I'm noticing the Bridge pup is in a different position on the HSS, closer to the bridge (supposing the diagrams are exact).
There's no hurry for answers, I'm just thinking out loud![]()

The bridge is in the same position for the h and hh but in order to make room the hss has the bridge pickup back a little.
THe SSS is going o make a surprise appearance
Brandt....We understand and addressed that first off...if you have the active eq dimed (which you shouldnt) then there is a difference but other wise very balanced.

Mine will be a HSS Olivegold........Oh yes, it will!!!!!
BP Do you even put these down, I'd be playing these non stop!![]()
I wouldn't get your heart set on a color just yet. I can't think of an Anniversary instrument yet that had a "choose your own color." Unless, you are planning on waiting in the possibility of a standard production instrument after the 25th Ann model. Besides--BP's already mentioned that it'd be silly to cover a fancy top with a solid finish...
I'm just waiting patiently to see my first completed 5 string SSS.
l to r:
Franken-Bongo 5 HHp (The Billy Bass), unlined fretless, daphne blue, mint pickguard, EB Cobalts.
Dargie Delight Bongo 5 SHp, fretted, Dargie, b/w/b pickgaurd, Dargie. Ernie Ball straplocks. EB Cobalts.
Franken-Bongo 5 SHp (Moby, the White Whale), fretted, white, cigar leaf sating finish, tort pickguard. Purple silk Flats.
I prefer coloured finishes, so I'll wait for a production model. I'd feel like a guitarist if I had fancy wood and that. Plus it gives me another year to save for one/decide which one I'm getting. But right now, I'm thinking SSS...With two H rays, and an HH Bongo coming, an SSS will be a nice different tone to have around. I'm so looking forward to it!
