I was once one of those who didn't GET the Bongo. I mean I thought with a name like Bongo, that the bass was made for slapping. That is NOT my style, so I never tried one. Well I bought a 4 string Bongo for my son, and tried it. Well, let me tell you I was impressed. So much that as we speak I am on UPS watch as I heard those 3 magic words today...Out For Delivery!

    I haver nothing to add...

bovinehost: Yes, I do agree with that, but if there's nothing wrong then there's nothing wrong.
Beth: I would compare Bongo to Tommy Lee Jones. Bad a$$ and just hot in a weird way...
cheezewiz: They should take their lace thongs off and play bass.

it will allow you to buy more basses, perhaps even guitars.. all eb of course

    MrM
just put flats on the bongo!!
just put roundwounds on your fretless!!

    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

Sounds like a real winner - oozing with intelligence & professionalism. "I'm not 'into' this bass, so I'm going to sabotage my own sales". I can probably guess who it was - I used to go to that store pretty often, before moving out to CO. That one, La Mesa, and the occasional drive to Rancho Cucamonga or Sherman Oaks.

So...a "professional" sales person doesn't ask the customer what he/she is looking for and match em up...he just sells stuff he likes? Hmmm, wouldn't last a day under my watch. But then again even the GC I frequent never handed me a bongo, I had to ask to try it..I think even the sales person was amazed how good it sounded.

YOu know I sort of was asking for it making a bass that looked different.

THe solution is the next great guy coming out and playing it and then I will be guilty of temporary genius. Temporary I stress!

Interesting a sales person would say that.....

I get told I have amazing tone and that my bass sound is killer. I tell people (other musicians) it is all due to the bongo. Then I am told, " I don't like how it looks." SO.....I tell them...well...you can have killer tone or continue on with your crappy sound. Doesn't matter to me really. The bongo is the ultimate metal bass.

Can't wait to see the new one.
"Welcome to the addiction!" is now patented by Koogie2k......if used by anyone other than Koogie2k....you must mail him a US nickel for each time said/typed or signed.......
