Happy New Bongo Owner in Greece

Well, used Bongo, new owner. There's always a part of you that's sad when you sell one, but hearing the response when the buyer receives it is always fun, and ALMOST makes up for it. Got this from Theo today:

    Hi Robert,

The bass arrived yesterday and went straight to a gig!! i own a couple of fenders and 2 warwicks and all i can say is that it blew me away!!

I invited Theo to stop by the forum. Very nice guy. Maybe we'll see him around. But if not, it's still cool to know that there's one more Bongoloid out there now.

I bought my Dargie from Mike (Caca de Kick) a couple of months ago, and I sent him some pictures of me performing with the beauty. I was soo happy when I received the shipment, it even contained a sock (I think new), which Miek used to protect the neck.. He didn't even wanted it back..

It's always nice to hear from the buyer if he really appreciates the deal, I guess especially if the deal is made with an overseas person (like between Mike and me). There's probably no way to get your hands on a Dargie in Europe, and Mike wasn't having a problem with shipping overseas. I can't thank him enough for his cooperation!

    Hi everyone!!

I am the lucky owner of that PERFECT bongo, thanks to robert of course!!

It's really difficult to get your hands on one of these great instruments as they are quite expensive in Greece (about 1800 euros for the 4HH) and you can't find them as all music stores who have musicman guitars in stock , prefer to sell stingrays and sterlings!

So it was really a "blind" buy as i had never tried one but i was really blown away by the neck and of course the versatility of the sound!!

having tried a stingray too all i can say is ... theres is only one true love, and it must be a BONGO!!!

    Theo!

Glad you decided to come to the forum, man. And glad to hear you're digging the Bongo (though I have to say, I"m not too surprised, there - the Bongo is truly a monster).

Which way are you leaning on the eq settings so far? And out of curiosity, what rig are you using?

I hear you about the neck. That's one of my favorite Bongo features ... and considering how many great features it has ... tone, versatility, playability ... that's saying alot.

    Later!

    Grecian Bongo....

Isn't that some sort of drink?

If it isn't, it should be.....

    The Collective welcomes you.

    The Bongo has magical powers.

Why, just this evening, I was listening to a recording of my band made last night, and marveling AGAIN at how great this bass sounds.

Bongo tone is a gift that keeps on giving.

Thanks guys. Couldn't have hasked for a better ebay transaction ... it was great dealing with Theo. His enthusiasm from the first email contact to the last made it alot of fun, and as I said earlier, *ALMOST* made up for the mixed feelings about letting go of it.

I loved that bass ... just decided that a Sterling Silver 4H was what I really wanted ... I had been hoping that color was going to become available, ever since I saw the Myung proto shots. And it did ... about a month after I ordered the Stealth Bongo! So even though I absolutely love the Stealth package, I knew early on that I'd probably sell that one & get a Sterling Silver 4H.

Just sent the "pull the trigger" email to Brandt. I'm stoked!

Thx again Theo, and I'm really glad you showed up here at the ol' forum. Great group here, man.
