I like the Markbass cabinets a LOT. And they are light, extremely light.

I might have a slight preference for my big, heavy, louder than Woodstock Ampeg 4-10 cabinet, but you know what? I ain't humping that thing no mo'. The difference is just not enough.

Try the Markbass. You might be surprised.
I agree....my Markbass hangs in there quite nicely with my guitarists' Hughes & Kettner AND Mesa rigs. I never have to turn up louder than 3!!!

TC electronics makes some nice light 2x10 & 2x12 neo cabs, but my faves are the neo cabs from Phil Jones Bass. I play a PJB M-500 head through their standard 8x5 and 16x5 cabs - killer sound, but very heavy - I should have gone for their neo cabinets. The multiple 5" speakers generate great bottom end, and the transient response and sparkling high end are second to none.

    I use 2 2x10s for a Half Stack.

Regardless of Price...the best thing I've ever used.

Light, Loud, Accurate, great tone and Can handle a Low B with ease.

They have very cool cloth covers and colors now..I love that

Schroeder cabinets are great too. They are very light, compact, portable and very loud! They are probably the most efficient cabinets available at 104db. I've had mine for a few years and like it a lot. They pair really nice with Markbass heads too.

I'll also add that the customer service is among the very best in the biz. Jorg Schroeder will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy. He's a one man operation working from his home in LA but he makes quality products and stand behind them 100%.

The only con of these cabinets IMO, is that they are expensive but used ones can be found.

I've owned these cabinets in the past. The 2x12 is awesome and probably as good as the higher end boutique cabs. For the price, Avatar can't be beat. Decent customer service too.

It's a little heavier than what's been listed above, but for an all-in-one combo unit, the Mesa Walkabout Scout is hard to beat and is somewhat more comparable I believe to the Eden because of the Walkabout's tube front end.

I also have Markbass stuff and the CMD121P is a nice loud combo amp (and only about 30lbs to boot) but it's a little more solid state sounding to me. Or you could go modular and get a LMII or what I have had, sold and reacquired, a Markbass SA450 head which I pair up with an Avatar 12" neo, or for bigger rooms/louder situations, an Acme 4x10 Low B4. Those VLF CLP knobs let you dial in a little fake tube sound and for the weight/price point, can't be beat.

Avatar = light + cheap + sound great. I also have a pair of Neo 210 cabs and they are great. I put my SWR 210 cabs on backup status. The Avatars are about 20# lighter than the SWR's. I know there are a lot of great cabs out there like MarkBass and Eden, but why pay more than you have to?
