Sterling by Music Man Ray34 - Review

You all should be familiar with Sterling by Music Man" by now. Here's a quote I got from the official website, just in case:

Sterling by Music ManŽ is the newest member of the Music ManŽ Family. This official brand incorporates the classic design elements of Ernie Ball Music ManŽ guitars and basses. The focus is on high quality and value aimed at the mid range price point. These are a more affordable version of the Music ManŽ instruments that will be at home with the pro player and the novice alike.
Well, after a few days of curiosity, impatience and waiting, it's finally arrived! I got the Ray34. If I played this without knowing it was imported from Korea (and inspected & set-up in USA), I would have thought this was the US-made Stingray. In short, it plays like butter.

Now I can play the bass like butter for the Lord!

Wow, the attention to detail on that looks very impressive, it even has 'Sterling' on the bridge! Nice one.

My wife and I made a trip up to Orlando over the holiday weekend to attend the GC Session for the EBMM 25th Anniviersary Tour.

It was great, we both really enjoyed it

While up there we took a trip to BassCentral -- These guys are awesome people!!!

I will be posting a threat later this week on what I got at BassCentral once it comes in and I can include pics.

Anyway, I tried out a Ray34 and it is an unbelievable instrument for the price range. IMHO it rivals my Stingray 4H. In fact, I would say that this will be the standard for other manufacturers to match on their "beginner / introduction" line of basses. I plan on getting a Ray35 in the future and it will definitely be at Basscentral. This requires a 4 hour drive up to Orlando from Davie Florida. They have a great selection and are willing to take the time to show you anything you want and let you really try them out. I can not say enough about how cool they were. Back to the Ray34 -- I loved the feel and tone of this bass. I felt right at home with it and wanted to get it right there but I had already made another purchase that I will share later.

So, AznKenshin, after finally trying one out I can really say, Congratulations on a great choice of instrument!!!
