Off Topic: ot but i really need advice

sorry guys if this is too fat off topic but i really need some help here and cant find anyone here who can help me out.

i am looking to buy a new PA,i need something really punchy but still portable.its for a 5 piece wedding band with a female singer,who is very good just not very loud.i was looking at the ev tourx range or a dynacord p 5 system.some of the places we play are huge but then we play small gigs too.i have the small rig sorted but i just need a big one for the bigger gigs.

so can you tell me what rig your band has and what you think of it.sorry if its too far ot i jsut every store i call try to sell me what they in stock.

Works well for us. It is our amplification, PA and monitors all in one. We've used them for gigs in large ball rooms and small living rooms. Even used them in clubs/pubs without plugging into the house FOH system.

The new Tone Engine includes tone presets for Musicman Basses!

Granted, they are a bit more expensive and not for every one, but we made the decision to sell our "traditional" (and brand new) Mackie system within 10 minutes of trying the Bose.

Chuck/Eggman: I've been looking at these for some time but haven't tried one yet although there is a dealer with them in stock near to me. I have a small conventional powered speaker pair and I was looking into a small mixer for them for my new band but I keep coming back to these and thinking maybe it's the way to go, especially as I am seriously looking into a smaller, more lightweight bass rig as well.

I know you guys really like them but what I can't get a sense of is a) how loud they are and b) how they would handle for example a 5 string bass. I can't find power output ratings or frequency response anywhere, or even an equivalent to compare with a conventional PA/instrument amp system.

If you dump the bass amp and big heavy bass speakers do you still get that nice kick-in-the-chest thump from those tiny little bass speakers in the L1 system? I can accept all the stuff about wide dispersion and acoustic clarity because they are approximating a perfect line array but how does it "feel" viscerally? If I like bass that shakes the room is this just the wrong way to go?

if you go with the bose system the idea is that every player in the band has his own system.. so prepare to be expensed

They say on their website (and on the forum) that that is not necessarily the case and players can share systems - although obviously one each for the 20 piece party funk band you're in would be highly desirable from a business point of view
