    trussrod adjustment:
less relief / flatter = lower action
more relief / bow = higher action
do NOT use cheap tools to adjust with. they might break and scrape up your pressious!
also, if you are lucky enough to have a 100th namm sr4: the truss works the other way around on that one!

I've got flats on one of my H Bongos. Warm and sweet, full and round.

Plyed my flat-fitted Bongo today at church, and I must say, in a live setting they really shine. I'm really itching to play with a good drummer and see just how good they sound!

I had flats on my fretted Bongo for a few months. Did it sound great? Sure, it was still a Bongo, but it also made me miss the tone I was getting with roundwounds strings. It was almost like the bass had been neutered. It was missing some balls. My main gig is a loud, female fronted rock/cover band. Roundwound strings fit the vibe of the music much better, IMO.

I bought a second 4HH Bongo just to have oone withh rounds and one with flats. I don't favor one over the other - gotta have both! Flats work wonderfully on the Bongo!

What set is equal to 45w-65w-80w-100w (Super Slinky Bass #2834) in flats so that I do not have to do a complete setup of the neck. I like to have the same tension as what comes from the factory setup.

    Thanks, Shepp...
