I have only been asking for a sweet thing like this for 20 years..
One thing Bring back the Metal Battery plate cover.. On touring , i have had the plastic battery type get intermittent and the preamp will dis-engage unless to rap the back of the bass...

And if possible try to make some that are not too heavy... Had an early model 77 or SR way back that was swamp ash.. it was about 8 pounds and popped like a mutha.....

I have had my sting ray for 32 years.. Just change the battery every Christmas and you are good for a year.. The old Chrome covers are the way to go IMO.. the plastic ones always seem to give out over time for me...
besides if you are going to do a reissue type of instrument, do it Right and Legit, and not half backsideed.

Will these be offered in oil finished necks? I think I'm warming up to the feel of natural wood in my hands.

    Hey?

Hang on a minute, aren't you the same guy who started the thread on unfinished necks and posted this:

"I'm also posting this partially for my own selfish reasons, in hopes that something can be done to bring back the satin lacquer neck finishes that so many of us (but not all of us) dearly miss. I would even go so far to say that a large chunk of Stingray owners are experiencing the same problems I have, trying to keep our necks in a playable state. Possibly someone higher up can take it into consideration and possibly offer this as an upgrade option in the future. Many companies do this."

Have I missed the 'Road to Damascus' moment?

while I'll probably stick to natural or sunburst if/when I get the funds for another Ray (got 3 of them already) it will be interesting to see some of the less common period correct finishes reissued too such as Walnut and Inca Silver.

also, would be nice to have a fretless option with ebony board.

There is one in the FS thread at an amazing price.
