Hello from a UK EBMM newbie...

Thought I'd drop in and introduce myself... Just got hooked on Rays - Played a lovely brand new 2eq model a couple of years ago, but never owned a "proper" MM yet.

I'm a professional musician, cellist, double bass player & electric bass player. I also teach in schools as a strings teacher (violin, viola & classical guitar as well.)

I mainly play Status-Graphite basses, an ACG Harlot, a Fender Jazz & a Warwick Triumph electric upright, but have more recently purchased one of the new "Sterling by MusicMan" Ray 34's.

This new Indonesian bass is so good (easily on a par with Lakland Skylines & other mid range far eastern instruments) that I'm now back on track to get a new 2eq Stingray in black/maple next year...

Can your guys poly gloss a maple fingerboard for me, Big Poppa?

Look forward to sparring with you all soon!

    Rich

Welcome, Rich! Sounds like the retro Stingrays that will be out soon could be your ticket. If EB offer the lacquered neck option, that is...

    1989 SR4 Blueburst, RW, clear, 2-band
    1990 SR4 Trans Red, maple, black, 2-band
    1992 SR4 Sunburst, RW, white, 2-band
2000 SR5 Metal Flake Green, RW, white pearl
    2003 SR5 White, RW, tort
    2007 SR4 Trans Red, maple, black, 3-band
    2009 25th 5 HSS, maple
2009 SR4 Classic Seafoam Green, maple, white

    Welcome to this marvellous forum!

I recognise you from a certain UK bass forum I think...

Good to have you aboard, and you must check out the classic StingRays, and you must also buy a Bongo.
